1 tbsp grated Fresh Ginger
2 cloves Garlic (Grated)
1 green Onion (sliced)
¼ tsp ground Black Pepper
1 lb Sirloin Steak (thinly sliced against the grain)
Marinated steak (drained)
3 tbsp Cornstarch
3 tbsp Peanut Oil (divided)
1 dried Red Chili (sliced)
2 tbsp Sesame Seeds (divided)
2 cloves Garlic (minced)
1 Green Onion (thinly sliced, plus more for garnish)
Pinch of Kosher Salt
1 large head Broccoli (cut into florets)
1 cup Low-Sodium Chicken Broth
2 tbsp Hoisin Sauce
⅓ cup Reserved Marinade
Marinate the Steak
In a bowl, whisk together all marinade ingredients (except steak). Reserve ⅓ cup for later. Add the steak to the bowl and toss to coat. Marinate for 20–30 minutes.
Prep and Sear the Beef
Drain the steak and toss with cornstarch until evenly coated. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the beef in batches for 1–2 minutes per side until browned. Set aside.
Sauté the Aromatics
Add remaining 1 tbsp oil to the skillet. Add the chili, 1 tbsp sesame seeds, garlic, green onion, and a pinch of salt. Cook for 2 minutes until fragrant.
Cook the Broccoli
Add broccoli to the pan and cook for about 4 minutes until bright green. Pour in chicken broth and cook for 3–4 minutes more until broccoli is tender.
Combine and Finish
Add the hoisin sauce and reserved marinade. Stir to combine. Return the beef to the skillet and toss everything together. Simmer until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli.
Serve and Garnish
Sprinkle with remaining sesame seeds and chopped green onion. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
